Privacy Policy

PinMe (“the app”, “we”, or “us”) allows you to draw virtual geofenced zones on a map and receive notifications/alerts when you arrive at or depart from those boundaries. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is handled, and your choices as a user.

We are deeply committed to transparency and user privacy. Location data is highly sensitive, and we have designed our application specifically to operate under a privacy-first model, minimizing data collection and processing location metrics locally on your device wherever possible.

Data We Collect

• Account Email and Password: Used solely to authenticate your identity, secure access to your profile, and synchronize your data. Passwords are stored securely in a fully hashed format by our third-party infrastructure providers; we can never view or read your plain text password.
• Geofence and Area Data: When you are signed in, the virtual zones you draw on the map (including coordinates of the boundary centers, configured radius distances, and text messages of your reminders) are stored locally and securely synced to your private account in our cloud database. This synchronization allows your boundaries to persist and function across multiple signed-in devices.
• Device Location: The app requires access to your device's GPS and background location coordinates to evaluate geofenced triggers. Your live position coordinates are processed exclusively on your local device. We do not continuously upload, trace, or log your coordinate history to our servers, and we do not compile maps of your physical travels.
• Subscription Entitlements: If you purchase a subscription to PinMe Pro, we record your subscription state (active, expired, renewal date, and entitlement status) to enable premium functions. We do not receive, store, or process your credit card details.
• Technical Infrastructure Metadata: Standard request metadata, including your IP address and user-agent string, is processed temporarily by our cloud and map tile infrastructure providers to safely deliver services and map graphics.

How We Use Your Data

We only process your information for the following necessary purposes:

• To authenticate your credentials and secure your account profile.
• To synchronize your custom geofence bubbles and text reminders across your devices.
• To compile map background tiles and render the visual drawing canvas.
• To verify and enforce subscription entitlements for PinMe Pro.
• To identify infrastructure issues and maintain general server security.

We do not use your personal information or location history for advertising, profile building, or targeting, and we do not sell or lease any user data to brokers or marketing agencies.

Third-Party Processors

We work with selected third-party service providers to power the application under their respective privacy terms:

• Supabase: Provides secure cloud authentication, database storage, and edge APIs. Your account details, geofence zones, and reminder texts are stored here.
• RevenueCat: Manages subscription status. Receives a pseudonymous user identifier to track active purchases.
• Apple App Store & Google Play: Process all subscription transactions and billing details under their proprietary operating terms. We never see your billing card numbers.
• OpenStreetMap & CARTO: Deliver the map graphics tiles rendered behind your geofences. Your IP address is visible to these servers when requesting map tiles.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

Your geofences and reminders remain stored securely in your database profile until you manually edit or delete them. One-time reminders are automatically cleaned from local storage and the database once triggered.

You have the right to erase all your data at any time. Inside the app, navigate to: Reminders Screen → Account Section → Delete Account.

Clicking this button triggers an immediate, permanent, and irreversible deletion of your user account profile, cloud database tables (including all geofence zones, coordinates, radii, and reminder notes), and purchase authentication history. All local application caches are wiped upon logging out.

Security Measures

All connection streams between the app, our databases, and tile endpoints are encrypted in transit using Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) and Transport Layer Security (TLS). Row-Level Security (RLS) is strictly enforced in the Supabase database, preventing unauthorized users or external entities from reading your geofences.

Children's Privacy

PinMe is a tool intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect, request, or target personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently processed data of a child under 13, please reach out to our team immediately to resolve.

Updates to this Policy

We may occasionally modify this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates or regulatory adjustments. We will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant updates, we will post an inline notice inside the application.
